What You Will Do- Identify potential replacement hardware components, perform trade studies, and select devices that best meet program requirements.
- Execute preliminary and detailed hardware design activities.
- Conduct device‑level bench testing and system‑level integration testing to support Engineering Change Proposals.
- Develop and review technical documentation across the product lifecycle.
- Mentor junior engineers throughout the development cycle.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional partners including Configuration Management, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Supply Chain.
- Lead small teams of hardware development engineers in support of Engineering Change Proposals as opportunities arise.
- Best practices across the entire hardware development lifecycle.
- Cross‑functional collaboration in a complex engineering environment.
- Exposure to new technologies, tools, and methodologies used within Collins Aerospace and RTX.
- Degree in a STEM field with a minimum of 5 years of related experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Experience creating technical documentation related to Configuration Control, Change Management, Trade Studies, and design artifacts.
- Experience developing detailed verification test plans and test reports.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a multi‑functional environment (e.g., field engineering, supply chain, suppliers, customers).
- U.S. citizenship required due to access requirements under applicable program/contract regulations.
- Experience designing with commercial off‑the‑shelf (COTS) hardware.
- Familiarity with Linux or Solaris operating systems.
- Project or team leadership experience.
