Job Overview
Raytheon is hiring a Mechanical Engineer for the Radar Mechanical Design Department located in Marlborough or Tewksbury, MA. The role focuses on the design, development, and production of radar hardware and supporting subsystems, including electronic modules, power, and cooling systems.
Responsibilities- Mechanical design and documentation of hardware and systems utilizing engineering tools and the MS Office suite.
- Part and drawing creation, drawing release, and drawing change incorporation as part of a small team during product development.
- Creative application of mechanical engineering knowledge to efficiently solve complex design problems and make sound, data‑oriented technical conclusions in a fast‑paced team environment.
- Provide factory and supplier support and collaborate with mechanical engineers, designers, structural/thermal analysts, and engineers from other disciplines to meet business objectives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance – Secret clearance required.
- Experience with CAD software or Creo.
- U.S. citizenship (a prerequisite for security clearance).
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in team settings (e.g., class projects, professional internships, or academic research).
- Strong aptitude for efficient, disciplined process execution with flexibility to adapt processes as required.
- Proven ability to apply academic engineering principles to design challenges.
- Comprehensive understanding of mechanical engineering design processes.
- Self‑motivated with strong organizational skills capable of managing workloads to meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with Mechanical Tolerance Analysis and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Relocation eligible.
- Competitive salary range USD 57,200–108,800 depending on experience.
