Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis

The Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis will be responsible for the budgeting, forecasting, planning and analysis for the entire company, a $20B+ retail sector public company.

• Analyze organizational budgets and perform periodic planning, forecasting, analysis, and reporting.
• Develop key performance indicators measuring the financial health of the company or assigned units or functions.
• Lead the continuous improvement of financial and business intelligence systems’ infrastructure to drive precision and accuracy of all financial planning, forecasting and reporting processes, and provide timely, accurate, and insightful analysis of financial statements, annual budgets, financial trends, and ongoing forecasts.
• Review past and current financial performance against budget and develop models that assist management in understanding the financial impact of business decisions.
• Develop strategies to assist the organization in meeting its long‑term financial objectives.
• Build, develop, and retain a high‑performing FP&A team.
• Partner cross‑functionally with Merchandising, Supply Chain, Real Estate, Technology, and Operations leaders to embed financial thinking into every major business decision.
• Develop policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization.
• Lead the annual long‑range forecast process and prepare presentations for executive management and the Board.
• Oversee work related to optimizing company resources and improving profitability through tactics and strategies related to pricing strategies, use of manpower, and product development.
• Perform special projects as assigned by management.

• Bachelor’s degree required; accounting, finance or economics concentration preferred.
• CPA or other professional accounting or finance qualification strongly preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive finance experience.
• Retail or CPG industry background preferred.
• Investment banking background (IB/ER) a plus.

• Demonstrated experience in organizing and leading finance processes, including annual budget, forecasting, and strategic planning processes.
• Deep understanding of balance sheets, revenue drivers, margin and reporting methodologies.
• Exceptional executive communication and presentation ability.
• Deep fluency in retail P&L economics.
• Comfort operating at both the strategic altitude and the detailed analytical level.
• Strong instincts around scenario construction and probabilistic thinking.
• Familiarity with modern FP&A platforms (Anaplan, Pigment or similar) and interest in AI and data tools.

Pay range: $270,000–$340,000. This is a hybrid role;
Tuesday through Thursday are in‑office at BJ’s Club Support Center in Marlborough, MA;
Monday and Friday are remote.
