IT Project Manager
About the role:
The Project Manager, Med Surg IT Portfolio will play a key role in driving operational excellence, financial discipline, and agile maturity across the Med Surg IT portfolio. Reporting to the Senior Director of Med Surg IT, this role partners cross‑functionally with enterprise IT, digital product teams, vendors, Finance, Procurement, and business stakeholders to ensure consistent, high‑quality portfolio execution.
This individual will bring both strategic oversight and operational rigor—managing complex portfolios, standardizing processes, reinforcing delivery governance, and producing clear, executive‑ready communications. The role also supports agile enablement, vendor and financial management, and the coordination of leadership development initiatives.
Work model, sponsorship, relocation:At Boston Scientific, this role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our Marlborough, MA office at least three days per week. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time. Relocation assistance is not available for this position at this time.
Your responsibilities will include:- Vendor and financial oversight
- Provide governance and oversight across vendor engagements to ensure consistent execution of procurement and contracting processes
- Enforce standardized management of MSAs, SOWs, contract life cycles, approvals, and compliance documentation
- Partner with Finance and Procurement to drive disciplined financial management, including PO creation, accruals, forecasting, reconciliation, and budget tracking
- Apply vendor management best practices consistently across the portfolio, including Strategic Business Reviews, SLA monitoring, KPI tracking, onboarding, and renewal processes
- Portfolio operations and communications
- Serve as the portfolio lead for Value Improvement Projects (VIPs), ensuring accurate tracking, reporting, and system adoption
- Deliver clear and structured portfolio communications such as executive presentations, newsletters, distribution lists, team sites, and metric dashboards
- Align initiatives with IT strategic objectives and governance standards by partnering with the PMO and cross‑functional teams
- Support leadership development efforts as the TLDP program lead for Med Surg IT
- Portfolio delivery and application health
- Collaborate with product teams to reinforce agile best practices, governance KPIs, and consistent delivery across the Med Surg portfolio
- Support quarterly planning, agile maturity assessments, and delivery assurance checkpoints
- Standardize tools such as JIRA and Confluence to streamline workflows, documentation, and reporting
- Provide coaching and training to drive improved agile execution and operational performance
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in IT project management, portfolio management, or business partnership roles
- Experience with agile methodologies, vendor management, and financial oversight
- Strong knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, and enterprise reporting tools
- Proven ability to manage complex portfolios with strong attention to detail and organizational discipline
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing presentations for senior leadership
- Demonstrated success working across IT, Finance, Procurement, and business functions
Minimum Salary: $89,200
Maximum Salary: $169,500
The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see – will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs.
At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.
