Senior Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE)

Our cybersecurity team seeks a senior engineer to support our team 100% onsite at our Marlborough, Massachusetts facility. The ISSE is an individual contributor responsible for complex classified information systems and partners with cybersecurity operations, digital technology, and engineering to align capabilities across multiple information systems.

• Conduct briefings and presentations for multiple levels of the business.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for designated tools, ensuring alignment with and support for Raytheon’s standard solutions portfolio.
• Develop, implement, and support technical standards while balancing program and mission needs.
• Provide strategic direction to drive technological innovation.
• Collaborate with architecture teams to design and develop secure, compliant technical solutions for deployment.
• Conduct technical solution evaluation for new technology; perform gap analysis and risk evaluation of new capabilities.
• Offer expert advisement in customer discussions, negotiations, approval requests, and other tasks.
• Ensure efficiencies, cost offsets and savings are captured by the architecture team.
• Provide oversight and leadership of cybersecurity projects and initiatives through cost‑benefit and risk management analysis.
• Support enterprise and business initiatives to drive technological evolution of supported programs.
• Support the organization’s vision, strategy, and goals.
• Travel up to 10% of the time as needed.

• University Degree in a related field or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years experience.
• Experience in cyber/systems security or network architecture/technology.
• Experience implementing compliance regulations such as NISPOM, DAAPM, JAFAN, ICD, FAA, HIPAA, and/or other government regulations or requirements.
• Experience with information security COTS applications (endpoint security, SIEM, vulnerability management, encryption, antivirus).
• Experience with project management and collaboration tools (SharePoint, MS Project, JIRA, Azure Dev Ops).
• Experience with enterprise architectural frameworks (TOGAF, DoDAF).
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (Kubernetes, Rancher, Docker) and virtualization platforms (VMware, Nutanix).
• Familiarity with cloud architecture, service categories, and deployment models.
• Preference for experience with change management or architectural governance.
• Ability to tailor technical discussions to various audiences and create security whitepapers and concepts of operations.

• Within six months of hire, obtain and maintain a DoD 8570.01‑M IAM level III certification (CISSP, CISM, GSLC, or CCISO) if not already held.
