Sr. System Administrator; Onsite

Principal System Administrator based in Marlborough, MA. Internally known as Principal Analyst, Information Workplace Services, this role collaborates and supports critical classified programs, developing, implementing, and maintaining secure and cost‑efficient environments. Program teams rely on the analyst for computing requirements and end‑to‑end solutions to complex IT infrastructure challenges.

Salary range: 68,900 USD – 131,100 USD.

• Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Redhat Enterprise Linux environment.
• Understand Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods.
• Work as a team member in a fast‑paced technological environment, using troubleshooting techniques to resolve moderate to high scope technical problems, including hardware‑OS integration.
• Work with cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements.
• Provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes, procedures, and other assigned tasks.
• Obtain DoDD 8140 / 8570 certification within 6 months of start date (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent).
• Maintain 24x7 operational systems, occasionally working beyond standard hours.
• Travel up to 10% of the year to other U.S. domestic locations.
• Full‑time 100 % onsite position.

• Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 2 years of relevant prior experience.
• Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Experience with scripting.
• Experience with helpdesk operations, ticket troubleshooting and resolution.
• Experience with audit log collection.
• Experience with system hardening.
• Transferable current U.S. government issued Secret security clearance prior to start date; U.S. citizenship required.

• Experience serving as a technical SME or primary point of contact for patching, vulnerability remediation, or compliance initiatives.
• Experience with VMware virtualization technologies, including ESXi, vCenter, VM lifecycle management, and host upgrades.
• Experience with securing system configurations, hardening, STIG/EVAL STIG implementation, vulnerability remediation, and compliance.
• Experience with MECM/SCCM, PXE boot services, OS imaging, and automated software deployment frameworks.
• Experience with enterprise Windows services, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and identity integration.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity and compliance tooling, such as ACAS, SCAP, Splunk, STIG Viewer, and audit support processes.
