Principal System Administrator; Linux; Onsite

Position

Principal Systems Administrator / Analyst – Onsite – Marlborough, MA – Relocation assistance available.

• Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Redhat Enterprise Linux environment, supporting Windows Server internals and Linux fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, AD, server replication).
• Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve moderate to high scope technical problems, including hardware and operating system integration.
• Configure and manage RAID, backup, and disaster recovery technologies.
• Install and configure software applications.
• Work with cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures.

• Minimum 5 years of direct hands‑on Linux administration experience; 3 additional years for those with an advanced degree.
• Experience with Active Directory, WSUS, VMware, Veeam, MySQL, Remote Desktop Gateway, Splunk, Windows and Linux administration.
• Experience in backup, recovery, and disaster‑recovery environments.
• Must be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance and maintain it after day one.
• Must obtain DoD Directive 8140 / 8570 certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) within 6 months of start date.
• Preferred:
  DoD TS/SCI with Polygraph, experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS, and/or DoD/RMF.
• Experience with Windows Server, NAS/SAN storage solutions, VMware vCenter/vSphere, and/or other virtualization.
• Understanding of HPC environments and scripting.

Position may require infrequent domestic travel.

Salary range: $86,800–$165,200 USD.
