What You Will Do
- Maintain smooth operation of voice and data networks.
- Plan, evaluate, coordinate, and perform installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication networks.
- Develop technical expertise in all areas of voice and data networks hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, including switches, routers, firewalls, authentication servers, encryptors, etc.
- Work with network management software platforms and propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements are met and optimized for cost savings and redundancy.
- Prepare or ensure that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions, technical diagrams, and other documentation; assist in developing documentation where none exists.
- Provide regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short‑ and long‑range planning for in‑house systems.
- Assist with coordination of third‑party maintenance for network equipment or with vendors for third‑party support.
- Be willing and available to work outside normal business hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
- Work with general supervision and follow established procedures.
- Apply your Network Engineering skills to defense‑oriented programs.
- University degree and a minimum of 2years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree.
- U.S. citizenship and an active, in‑scope, transferable U.S. government‑issued security clearance (Secret) required prior to start date.
- Experience in configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and/or intrusion detection systems, including software upgrades.
- Certification in Security+ within 6months and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) desired within a year.
- Experience with Cisco ISE and 802.1X, Solar Winds, and setting up client‑server environments for government networks.
- Knowledge of current cabling and fiber standards.
- Experience with access control lists, security posture, and vendor best practices.
- Experience with Visio diagramming and design capabilities.
- 1–2years of experience with network management software.
- Willingness and availability to travel domestically as needed.
- Knowledge of configuration and troubleshooting of encryption devices.
- Effective customer service skills, including oral and written communications.
- Experience with platforms such as IP telephony, NTP servers, Gem One, and Solar Winds.
- Ability to work under time constraints.
- Experience with classified computing, STIG compliance, and network refreshes.
- Current DoD Top Secret level security clearance.

Salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD.
