Purpose Statement
OverviewAs a core member of the Indirect Sourcing team, the Indirect Sourcing Specialist leads the development and execution of sourcing strategies for assigned categories within Global Facilities that supports worldwide operations. In partnership with stakeholders across Global Operations, this role ensures sourcing strategies are aligned with organizational goals and operational needs, while championing meaningful innovation, high performance, and global collaboration. The incumbent will manage a broad portfolio of services including managed facility services, security services and construction services to achieve sustainable cost reductions, mitigate supply chain risk and drive overall business objectives.
The role operates with moderate guidance and is responsible for independently managing initiatives from strategy through execution.
- Leading global RFI/RFP processes including development, supplier engagement, bid analysis, and contract negotiations with facility service providers in conjunction with internal stakeholders
- Collaborating with stakeholders to forecast and consolidate demand; identify and implement opportunities to reduce demand, optimize spend and implement cost reduction initiatives.
- Gathering and analyzing global spend data, market trends, and supply chain risks to identify and implement innovative solutions, optimize value improvement opportunities and cost savings
- Managing strategic supplier relationships via performance reviews, scorecards, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Integrating key pillars of indirect sourcing strategy, including cost leadership, supplier innovation, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and sustainability
- Negotiating value improvements and optimizing supplier contracts to ensure balanced engagement and competitive advantage
- Serving as a trusted advisor and partner to internal stakeholders to identify business needs and align sourcing strategies; ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements in all sourcing activities
- Promoting a work environment of continuous improvement and operational excellence
- In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain or related field; equivalent experience considered
- Minimum 3 years of procurement experience, with a strong focus on global Facilities/Operations
- Experience with contract negotiation, supplier management, and strategic sourcing methodologies (project planning)
- Experience managing global supplier relationships including performance, and service optimization
- Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives and value improvement programs
- Effective project management and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint), Tableau, SAP, Ariba, or similar systems
- Proficient in AI applications (CoPilot, ChatGPT, Deep Research, etc.)
- Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels internally and externally
