As a member of the leadership team, this position directs and oversees the financial and administrative operations of SOMA including financial reporting, banking, accounting functions, payroll, budget and forecast preparation, technology, facilities, human resources and administrative services.

Description:

As a member of the leadership team, this position directs and oversees the financial and administrative operations of SOMA including financial reporting, banking, accounting functions, payroll, budget and forecast preparation, technology, facilities, human resources and administrative services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and oversight for finance and operations. Manage all budgets, forecasts, internal financial plans and processes in an accurate and timely manner; this includes the ability to establish multi-year projections that align with the organization’s strategic vision and long-range plans.
  • Generate monthly, quarterly and annual reports as needed to monitor, evaluate and optimize cashflow and liquidity. Manage relationship with third-party money manager for organization’s investment portfolio.
  • Establish annual priorities and benchmarks and conduct regular financial reporting, measuring projections against actual performance.
  • Perform trend, scenario, benchmark and other financial analysis to provide key assessments for strategic decision making.
  • Manage internal control procedures and external compliance programs associated with state and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Manage all aspects of the annual audit and IRS Form 990 filing.
  • Act as staff liaison to the Board of Directors and Finance Committee. Participate in set meetings and provide financial and operational materials that help guide discussions.
  • Maintain a schedule of fixed assets, acquisitions and depreciation.
  • Oversee and provide necessary controls for office facilities, technology and equipment.
  • Maintain and manage the review and renewal of all SOMA insurance policies and manage procurement of certain service contracts.
  • Analyzes expenses and partners with other departments to ensure financial efficiency of program and development initiatives.
  • Oversees and manages Human Resources including recruitment, personnel records, legal compliance, compensation, benefits and employee evaluation process.
  • To perform any other duties that may be assigned by the President & CEO.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Minimum 5 years of financial experience in a nonprofit organization
  • 5 to 8 years of experience in accounting/finance
  • Experience working with external auditors, compliance and regulatory oversight
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Commitment to the organization’s mission
  • Knowledge of Quick Books & Salesforce Platforms;
    Proficiency in MS Office Suite

Compensation: $110,000 to $120,000; competitive benefit package
