Duties- Assemble, align, bond, and test free-space optical assemblies and laser heads in a clean room environment.
- Align and integrate optical components, including lenses, mirrors, beam splitters, and other precision optical elements.
- Operate laser systems and optical test equipment to verify alignment and product performance.
- Perform functional testing and inspection to ensure assemblies meet quality and performance specifications.
- Troubleshoot assembly and alignment issues and work with engineering to implement solutions.
- Accurately document assembly, testing, and inspection results in accordance with company procedures.
- Follow clean room protocols and comply with all safety and quality requirements, including laser safety and ESD procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes, product quality, and production efficiency.
- Regular and reliable attendance and the ability to work overtime as needed are essential functions of this position.
- Optical school graduate or equivalent experience
- Competent in the use of optical measurement tools, gauges, and meters.
- Craftsman skill level with assembly hand tools and light power tools.
- Neat, accurate, and consistent work.
- Works well independently and assumes responsibility for own work.
- Attention to detail and ability to retain communicated information.
- Appropriate communication skills to convey information to other associates and supervisors.
- Understands when to request guidance from superiors and the proper chain of command.
