Schedule: Hybrid - 2 days/week onsite (Tuesday in Framingham, Wednesday in Marlborough)
Duration: 12-month contract with potential to convert to permanent employment
Pay Rate: Starting at $30.00/hour
Position OverviewWe are seeking a
Community Relations Specialist
- Mid-Level
to support community relations, grant programs, sponsor ships, and community engagement initiatives. This position will work closely with internal teams, nonprofit organizations, community partners, and other external stakeholders to coordinate requests, maintain program information, track budgets and statuses, and support the successful execution of community programs.
The ideal candidate will have3-8 years of coordination experience
within community relations, nonprofit organizations, grants, philanthropy, corporate social responsibility, or a related environment. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, database management experience, and intermediate Excel skills are important for success in this role.
- Update and maintain grant program trackers to monitor grant requests, program statuses, and related budgets.
- Support community relations grant funding and sponsorship requests, including nonprofit organization research and first-level review of requests.
- Assist with the execution and administration of grant programs, moving requests through the appropriate grant management systems and processes.
- Maintain accurate program and stakeholder information across relevant databases and systems.
- Serve as a resource for external partners, including nonprofit applicants and grantees, regarding database questions and basic troubleshooting.
- Track and monitor event sponsor ships, including guest lists and related program details.
- Conduct research and provide support for community relations initiatives and other special projects as assigned.
- Prepare and maintain reports, trackers, and documentation to support program visibility and decision-making.
- Coordinate with multiple internal teams and external stakeholders to keep requests and projects moving forward.
- Manage multiple priorities, processes, and work streams while maintaining a high level of accuracy and follow-through.
- 3-8 years of relevant coordination experience in community relations, nonprofit organizations, grants, philanthropy, corporate social responsibility, sponsor ships, or a related field.
- Experience with database management, data tracking, reporting, or analytics.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, responsibilities, and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, make decisions, solve problems, and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- Strong customer service and relationship-management skills.
- Experience working in a highly collaborative environment with multiple levels of stakeholders.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and navigate multiple processes and work streams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Intermediate Excel skills are strongly preferred, including data tracking, filtering, sorting, Pivot Tables, and lookup functions.
- Must be local to the Marlborough/Framingham, MA area and able to work the required hybrid schedule.
- Must be authorized to work without sponsorship.
- Knowledge or experience within the nonprofit sector.
- Experience with Blackbaud.
- Experience with iGAM or other grant management systems.
- Experience using Power BI to create or pull reports.
- Experience with community grants, corporate philanthropy, sponsorship programs, or community investment initiatives.
