! As an Infection Preventionist (Infection Control Nurse), you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our residents and staff.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Infection Control Nurse to join our team. As an ICN, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, developing, coordinating, directing, and evaluating our Infection Control Program and its components to ensure an effective Infection Prevention & Control Program is maintained. This role requires a strong understanding of epidemiology, microbiology, infectious diseases, and aseptic techniques, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills.
Shift is Monday-Friday with weekly pay ranging from $38 to $50, depending on licensure and experience. Can be an LPN or RN.
Responsibilities:- Maintain, execute, and oversee the comprehensive Infection Control and Prevention Program
- Communicate and inform the Infection Control and Prevention Committee of any Infection-related issue via Quarterly Medical Staff/QA reports
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation related to the Infection Control & Prevention Program and Skin Integrity Program
- Evaluate the status of Infection-related practices in the facility via monthly surveillance rounds
- Maintain updated community awareness of potentially threatening infections
- Assist in the education of employees in Infection Control Practices, Policies, and Procedures
- Coordinate and report on the Annual OSHA Sharps survey
- Possess a Nursing Degree from an accredited school of nursing, college or university
- Possess a current, unencumbered license to practice nursing in this state and be CPR-certified
- Possess training or current experience in wound care
- Certification in infection control and/or wound care preferred, but not necessary
- Two years of Infection Control/Wound Care experience preferred
- Must have as a minimum, two (2) years clinical experience in a long-term care facility
- Training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices
- Working knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology, infectious diseases, and aseptic techniques to include Standard Precautions
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actions in a timely manner
- Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents and staff
