** You will contribute to the security and protective service of NZDF staff and visitors to RNZAF Base Woodbourne, maintaining physical security and safety and assisting with emergency and evacuation procedures.

We operate a rotating four on/four off roster, which includes day and night shifts.

You will:
* Undergo ongoing training to improve and update standards and professionalism.
* Recognise, report on, and take appropriate action on incidents, risks, breaches and suspicious behaviour.
* Be appropriately assertive and directive, de-escalate situations.
* Use your relationship management and communication skills to deal with staff, visitors, and others in a helpful and positive way.

The salary range for this role is between $73,030 and $84,985,
** including
* * a 4% super contribution
*** and
* ** salary loading payment. Where we appoint within this range is based on skills and experience; however, we are willing to negotiate the salary with the right candidate.

** Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and Experience
** Ideally, you will have prior experience in operational security and be familiar with shift work.

You will also need:
* Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to de-escalate situations and deal with a variety of people.
* A good level of fitness is required, including the ability to stand and walk for long periods.
* Confidence using computers and familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite.
* A current level 1 First Aid Certificate.
* Previous experience in CCTV, control room monitoring and use of security related databases and equipment is advantageous.

You may be exposed to various weather conditions, NZDF will provide sunscreen and wet weather equipment.
