Telecom Apprentice

Position Summary

The Telecommunications Apprentice will participate in the installation or maintenance and inspection of telecommunication systems and associate process alongside a licensed Telecom Technician.

• Regular attendance at assigned location that may include office or other project sites.
• Follow blueprints and building plans to meet the needs of clients.
• Assist with installation of cable supports, through floor and wall sleeves, fire stopping materials.
• Assist with installation relays, cabinets, network switches.
• Assist with termination of data, voice, coaxial, control, and fiber optic cables.
• Assist with installation of cable trays above and below floors.
• Ability to work in small spaces.
• Test cables to TIA/EIA level II standards with cable analyzer and fiber test equipment.

• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Follow plans and instructions from supervisors or more experienced workers.
• Strict adherence to all safety rules and quality.
• Participate in site housekeeping.
• Interact with all co-workers and clients in an attentive courteous manner.
• Perform additional duties as directed by Management.
• At times may perform clerical/administrative duties.

• High School Diploma or relevant work experience.
• 0-4 years of Field Experience, trade school or apprenticeship.
• OSHA 10 certification.
