What You Will Be DoingWe are looking for a hands‑on software systems engineer to help lead development of connected consumer and medical products spanning embedded firmware, mobile applications, and cloud services. This role is for an engineer who enjoys working across system boundaries and taking technical ownership of real products shipped to customers. The role combines software engineering, systems integration, technical leadership, and product execution.
You will work closely with firmware engineers, mobile app developers, cloud developers, QA, regulatory teams, and external development partners to help deliver connected products from concept through release and field support. This is not a pure project management role. - Work across embedded firmware, mobile apps, cloud services, and backend integrations
- Participate in software architecture and system design discussions
- Help define and refine software requirements, workflows, and feature behavior
- Coordinate technical activities across internal teams and external development partners
- Review software designs, implementation approaches, and technical tradeoffs
- Support software verification, validation, and release readiness activities
- Investigate and help resolve complex cross-functional technical issues
- Help maintain technical consistency across multiple products and software platforms
- Contribute hands‑on technical work where needed, including prototyping, debugging, scripting, and implementation support
- Assist with software lifecycle documentation and regulated development processes for connected medical products
- Help identify technical risks early and drive issues to closure
- BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 4+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong systems‑level thinking and debugging skills
- Experience working with embedded systems or connected devices
- Experience working across multiple software layers (firmware, mobile, backend, APIs, cloud, etc.) and ability to understand and troubleshoot interactions between hardware and software
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable working in ambiguous and fast‑moving environments
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical problems
- Authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis
- Experience with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) or IoT systems
- Experience with mobile application development (iOS, Android, Flutter, or similar)
- Experience with cloud‑connected products and backend APIs
- Experience in regulated industries such as medical devices
- Familiarity with software lifecycle processes, verification, and traceability
- Experience working with external development partners or offshore teams
- Experience with Git‑based development workflows and CI/CD systems
- Embedded firmware development experience in C/C++
