Our Connected Aviation – Air Traffic Solutions - Software Engineering Department (ATS-SED) is looking for a talented Software Engineer to join our team. We develop air traffic management systems used for controlling and monitoring aviation traffic. This is an opportunity to learn new technology, COTS tools, processes, and methodologies as you focus on improving your skills to support, design, develop, integrate, and test operational software components throughout the SW development life‑cycle.
This position can be located in Marlborough, MA;
Omaha, NE; or Fullerton, CA.
Salary range for this role is $86,800 - $165,200 USD.
What You Will Do- Develop and maintain software packaged into our ATS products.
- Maintain documentation and work instructions needed to meet ATS SED’s high maturity level software engineering standards and processes.
- Participate in the agile process including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, backlog grooming, and story pointing; collaborate with an integrated engineering team and communicate with program management and external stakeholders.
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Experience developing software in a Linux/Unix environment.
- Experience with the complete software development lifecycle using modern C++.
- Experience developing networked software applications using TCP/IP, UDP, or distributed messaging technologies.
- Experience developing software for radar systems, sensor systems, signal processing applications, or other complex distributed systems.
- U.S. citizenship is absolutely required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under these programs/contracts.
- Experience with simulation and analysis using MATLAB, Python, or other similar tools and languages.
- Experience with multithreaded software development, debugging, and troubleshooting.
- Experience developing distributed applications, messaging systems, or micro‑service–oriented architectures.
- Experience with Agile software development principles and tools.
