Summary
The Materials and Logistics Supervisor maintains efficient workflow, provides leadership and mentoring for the assigned work group, and is responsible for decision making and problem solving to ensure customer service levels are maintained at all times. The role provides outstanding service through effective supply chain materials management, logistics, inventory management, and supply channel management to clinical departments. The supervisor leads inventory control procedures for optimal accuracy, maintains a high level of accuracy in General Stores and departmental inventory locations, ensures correct placement and rotation of materials, and delivers items to meet customer orders.
Cycle count methods are adhered to in compliance with quality control guidelines. Logistic services to all departments include shipments, receiving, distribution, inventory, and materials management, ensuring timely delivery of medical supplies and equipment.
- Communicates consistently with supply chain leadership, customers, and associates to ensure needs are met.
- Identifies problems and provides solutions to Supply Chain Leadership.
- Ensures quantity and quality of incoming product using applicable equipment and computer systems.
- Leads the team to receive, fill, transport, and deliver orders to designated areas using applicable systems and equipment; addresses discrepancies of shipments and invoices.
- Maintains and optimizes assigned inventories, ensuring FIFO is practiced.
- Maintains the overall cleanliness, safety, and security of the receiving and storage facilities.
- Works with clinical leaders through action and education to achieve product standardization, optimum inventory locations and levels, and reduced operating expenses.
- Monitors and audits outdated product checks, documents findings, and completes required processes for obsolete or expired products; reports issues to procurement and the service center.
- Handles supply requests and delivery/product issues via e‑mail, voicemail, faxes, and phone, resolving or forwarding information appropriately.
- Ensures the assigned team delivers product and STAT/RUSH orders to Virtua departments/locations to meet supply chain and customer needs.
- Attends meetings as required, including daily huddles and product committees.
- Participates in annual physical inventories.
- Manages timekeeping for designated associates/areas.
- Orientations and training of new employees and others as requested.
- Performs other job‑related duties as assigned, including covering supply chain associate shortages.
Minimum of 2‑year prior materials management experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Basic computer skills (data entry, e‑mail usage).
Knowledge of inventory and stocking, with ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Required EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent.
Training / Certifications / LicensureForklift certification or ability to obtain certification; may be required.
Salary$26.00 - $39.11 Hourly
