Team Lead Materials Management

Summary

The Service Center Warehouse Team Leader assists the supervisor in maintaining efficient workflow within the assigned work group. The role participates in the receiving, storage, preparation, and distribution of materials, equipment, and products within the Virtua Service Center.

• Verify quantity and quality of incoming product using applicable equipment (e.g., handheld or computer) and computer system(s).
• Fill, transport, and deliver orders to Service Center designated areas using applicable systems and equipment (i.e., material handling, handheld, and/or personal computer).
• Maintain and optimize assigned inventories, ensuring First In First Out (FIFO) is practiced.
• Maintain the overall cleanliness, safety, and security of the receiving, storage, and distribution operations.
• Use applicable Warehouse Management systems to perform duties.
• Operate all Support Services equipment (i.e., carousel, conveyor, forklifts, electric or manual pallet jacks) safely and according to manufacturer’s guidelines.
• Communicate constantly with supervisor, customers, and co‑workers to ensure customer needs are met and consistently pass along critical information that may impact product demand.
• Address concerns in advance, avoiding crisis situations. Cover shift shortage(s) as required.
• Check e‑mails, voicemail, faxes, and phone for supply requests and/or delivery/product issues and either resolve or forward information to appropriate personnel for resolution.
• Participate in annual physical inventories.
• Involved in the orientation and training of new employees and others as requested.
• Perform other job‑related duties as assigned by instruction from management.

2 years of prior materials management experience, preferably in a receiving and storing, distribution/warehouse environment.

Basic computer knowledge and skills (data entry, email).

Knowledge of inventory and stocking to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

High school degree or equivalent.

Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification. Passing Virtua Supply Chain certification is a required term of employment.
