Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology

Required Skills:

• Valid medical license in Michigan
• Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology
• Proven proficiency in performing procedures such as EGD, colonoscopy, pH studies, manometry, sigmoidoscopy, PEG/PEG-J tube placement, ERCP, and EUS
• Strong clinical judgment and exceptional communication skills
• Ability to independently manage patient cases and work efficiently without scribe support
• Familiarity with Cerner, gGastro, Athena systems
• Excellent documentation and charting skills

Nice to Have

Skills:

• Experience with capsule endoscopy and hydrogen breath testing
• Advanced proficiency in Propofol sedation
• Prior work in a hospital-based endoscopy unit with multiple procedures per day
• Knowledge of hospital protocols and interdisciplinary collaboration

Preferred

Education and Experience:

• Medical degree from an accredited institution
• Completion of fellowship in Gastroenterology
• Minimum of 2 years of post-training clinical experience in gastroenterology

Other Requirements:

• Immediate availability for credentialing and credentialing turnaround adherence
• Willingness to work scheduled shifts including overnight call and weekend coverage
• Full availability for scheduled dates as specified (March 25 March 30, April 16 April 20, June 12 June 15, December 11 December 14)
• Ability to handle full block coverage with no partial availability
• Commitment to documentation prior to submission of hours
• Capable of managing all charting independently, including patient communication post-procedure
