About the Position
Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology
Join our esteemed healthcare team as an Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology specialist and make a meaningful impact on patient care through your expertise. This position offers a unique opportunity to work within a well-established Endo Unit, performing a wide range of procedures in a dynamic hospital setting. If you are a dedicated provider with full availability on scheduled dates and ready to deliver top-tier care, this role is ideal for you.
Required Skills:
Valid medical licensure in Michigan
Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology
Proven experience in endoscopic procedures such as EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP, EUS, and PEG placements
Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
Ability to independently manage patient charting and follow-up work
Excellent communication skills with nursing staff and patients
Familiarity with electronic medical record systems (e.g., Cerner, gGastro, Athena)
Nice to Have
Skills:
Experience with pH studies, manometry, sigmoidoscopy, Hydrogen breath testing, capsule endoscopy, and Propofol administration
Additional procedural expertise in PEG/PEG-J tube placement
Prior experience in high-volume Endo Units
Ability to work efficiently under minimal supervision
Preferred
Education and Experience:
Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
Minimum of 2 years of post-residency GI experience, preferably in hospital-based settings
Active Michigan medical license in good standing
Other Requirements:
Availability for the full block of scheduled dates with no partial coverage
Ability to work on a 9-hour shift schedule with an overnight call shift and 24-hour weekend call
Commitment to thorough documentation and communication without the support of a scribe
Immediate credentialing and billing enrollment process
