Part time Foreign Language Instructor

Position Summary

Part‑time Foreign Language Instructor (Full Time/Part Time). Teaching credit courses in Spanish, French, and German at Washtenaw Community College.

• Establish and maintain an environment conducive to student learning.
• Prepare for and instruct assigned courses using appropriate learning experiences and materials.
• Adhere to the course syllabus and comply with assessment policies.
• Evaluate student progress through day‑to‑day evaluation, written examinations, and overall observation.
• Grade assignments in a meaningful way to promote continued growth, return graded assignments promptly, and assign final grades within institutional deadlines.
• Actively support student success through guidance, advising, and assistance as needed.
• Participate in professional activities, including curriculum planning, examination development, textbook selection, program evaluation, and other professional planning activities.
• Participate in the Student Opinion Questionnaire (SOQ) process.
• Maintain professional knowledge and comply with required training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedules vary according to class schedules. Employment terms are based on college enrollment and class enrollment.

• Earned Master’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in foreign language or culture, or a Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate credits in foreign language.
