Lower Elementary Teacher

North Star Montessori Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Lower Elementary Teacher (Grades 1-3) to join our collaborative and child-centered school community.

The Lower Elementary Teacher is responsible for guiding students in grades 1-3 through a supportive, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment aligned with Montessori principles and state standards.

• Create and maintain a prepared Montessori classroom environment that supports independence and engagement

• Plan and deliver instruction in reading, writing, math, and integrated subject areas

• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners

• Use formative assessments and progress monitoring tools (including NWEA data) to inform instruction

• Foster a positive classroom culture focused on respect, responsibility, and growth

• Communicate regularly and effectively with families

• Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administration

• Support students' social-emotional development and executive functioning skills

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (required)

• Valid teaching license (required)

• Montessori certification (preferred but not required; willingness to pursue Montessori training encouraged)

• Experience working with lower elementary-aged students

• Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills
