The Application Engineer is responsible for communicating with customers and vendors, understanding their needs, and ensuring an enjoyable sales process. This role requires a dynamic individual with excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of the products offered related to hot water. The Application Engineer will work closely with the Engineering Team and other departments.
Key Responsibilities- Strong understanding of hot water system design, thermal utilities, and heat transfer principles, including experience with water heaters, heat exchangers, and system controls.
- Skilled in evaluating customer specifications and applying appropriate system solutions in industrial, commercial, or institutional settings.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose system inefficiencies or performance issues and recommend engineered solutions.
- Capable of managing multiple application requests and providing technical support throughout the sales and project lifecycle.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interface with customers, sales teams, and cross‑functional engineering departments.
- Familiarity with design and modeling tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Solid Works, or similar), as well as Microsoft Office; experience with thermal modeling or selection tools is a plus.
- Willingness to learn or train in the position.
- Must have the physical and mental stamina to stand, walk, lift, and adjust to the noise and lighting of the manufacturing environment.
- Other duties as assigned and not limited to just the above.
- Excellent written and oral communication at all levels of business.
- Technical problem solver (Steam experience a plus).
- Effective and professional presentation skills for small seminar and training groups.
- Ability to creatively explain and present complex concepts in an easy‑to‑understand manner.
- Capable of prioritizing and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to forge strong, long‑lasting relationships with our customers and representatives.
- Basic computer knowledge – MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and Adobe.
- Experience in analyzing statistical data preferred.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
