The OpportunityWe are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Newaygo that are seeking skilled Design Engineers. Key Responsibilities- Design and develop new products, components, and systems from concept to production.
- Create detailed 2D/3D CAD models, assemblies, and engineering drawings.
- Conduct engineering analysis (e.g., FEA) to validate designs for performance and manufacturability.
- Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes to optimize cost, performance, and reliability.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, production, and quality teams to ensure design feasibility and smooth production.
- Develop and manage Bill of Materials (BOMs) and technical specifications.
- Support prototyping, testing, and validation activities to refine designs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues during manufacturing and product lifecycle.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD, CATIA) for 3D modeling and drafting.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, injection molding, casting, and sheet metal fabrication.
- Demonstrated experience in product design, prototyping, and testing, including DFM (Design for Manufacturability) principles.
- Knowledge of material properties, selection, and their application in various manufacturing environments.
- Ability to perform engineering calculations and simulations (e.g., FEA) to validate designs.
- Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, and iteration of physical products.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Proficiency in advanced simulation software (e.g., CFD, Mold Flow Analysis).
- Experience with scripting or programming for design automation or data analysis (e.g., Python).
