Job Description

Catholic Social Services of the Upper Peninsula (CSSUP) is seeking an organized, detail-oriented Financial & Business Manager to join our administrative team in Marquette, Michigan.

Reporting directly to the Executive Director, this position is responsible for overseeing the agency s day-to-day accounting and financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, budgeting, financial reporting, cash flow, audits, payroll oversight, grant financial management, and bank reconciliations. The Financial & Business Manager will also work closely with the Executive Director, Finance Committee, and Board of Directors to provide accurate financial information and support sound financial decision-making.

What We Offer Salary range of $55,000-$65,000, based on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

Accounting & Bookkeeping:
Maintain accurate agency accounting records and oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, deposits, and other standard bookkeeping functions.

Financial Reporting:
Compile and analyze financial information, provide ongoing financial-status reporting to the Executive Director, and prepare financial data for required reports.

Budgeting:
Develop and assist the Executive Director with preparation and presentation of the agency s annual budget.

Cash Flow & Financial Analysis:
Monitor agency cash flow, analyze financial data, identify opportunities for simplification or cost savings, and consult with the Executive Director regarding financial concerns and investment opportunities.

Audits & Fund Accounting:
Coordinate and manage the agency s annual financial audit and maintain accounting for funds with and without donor restrictions.

Board & Finance Committee Support:
Serve as a liaison to the agency Finance Committee and Board of Directors regarding accounting and investment matters.

Payroll Oversight:
Supervise the agency payroll process and help ensure accurate and timely processing.

Bank Reconciliations:
Complete monthly reconciliations for all agency bank accounts.

Contracts & Grants:
Assist with contract billing and maintain financial oversight of grants.

Confidentiality:
Maintain a high level of confidentiality when handling financial, employee, and organizational information.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor s degree in Business Administration or a related field preferred.

Accounting & Financial Knowledge:
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, bookkeeping, and financial management.

Accounting Software:
Strong working knowledge of Quick Books or Sage Intacct and other applications commonly used for accounting, data collection, and financial analysis.

Microsoft Excel:
Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel and the ability to effectively work with financial data.

Organization:
Strong initiative, self-direction, time management, and the ability to organize and prioritize multiple responsibilities.

Confidentiality:
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
