Job Description
This position performs a full range of radiological assignments for correctional facilities in the ambulatory health care clinics for Marquette Branch Prison, Alger Correctional Facility, and Baraga Correctional Facility. Work is performed under general supervision and requires knowledge of instructions and the ability to make decisions and take necessary action. 100% of time is spent within the secure perimeter of these correctional facilities.
ResponsibilitiesPerform radiological examinations, interpret images, maintain equipment, and ensure quality assurance and safety protocols are followed in a secure correctional environment.
Requirements- Possession of an associate's degree in radiological technology.
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in radiography.
- Experience:
- X‑Ray Technician 8 – no specific type or amount required.
- X‑Ray Technician 9 – one year of experience equivalent.
- X‑Ray Technician E10 – two years of experience including one year equivalent to X‑ray Technician 9.
- Applicants who have been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony are ineligible for employment until satisfactory completion of any sentence imposed.
- Employment in the state classified service demands a high degree of loyalty and ethical standards. All employees must comply with these standards and report any possible conflict of interest.
- New hires and returning employees after more than two years will complete Non‑Custody New Employee Training (NCNET).
