How

You’ll Contribute
  • Under the supervision of an RN, performs telemetry monitoring.

    Reports to:

    Director of Intensive Care Unit.
  • Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection. Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition. Documents patient care given.
  • Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning and troubleshooting. Maintains examination areas.
  • Performs administrative or clerical duties assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
What We’re Looking For
  • High school diploma or equivalent Required;
    Associate’s degree Preferred.
  • Licenses: EMT, EMT-P, CNA, SRNA, or CMA Preferred or completion of first semester clinical rotation in an accredited Nursing Degree Program (ADN or BSN).
  • Certifications:

    Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.
  • Completion of Cardiac Telemetry Certification within 1 year of hire;
    Evidence of successful completion of Telemetry/Dysrhythmia course

    Certifications:

    Certified.
  • Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA). Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Essential Functions
  • Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
  • Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately. Identifies and corrects for artifacts.
  • Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
  • Tests equipment for proper working order. Reports equipment problems to supervisor.
