How you'll contribute
An
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)who excels in this role will:
Safely navigates ambulance to patient's location. Provides stabilization of scene and requests additional assistance as necessary.
Determines nature and extent of illness or injury and patient's history from available sources.
Administers emergency medical care within scope of practice, including patient stabilization, monitoring, and resuscitation, from the scene to receiving medical facility.
Contacts medical personnel, reports/records observations, and follows directives from supervising Physician or Registered Nurse.
Maintains equipment, restocks supplies and cleans ambulances as necessary.

What we're looking for
An applicant who has successfully completed MDHHS approved EMT course and has avalid Michigan driver's license. Additional requirements include:
Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) (Preferred)
Trauma Course (ITLS or PHTLS) (Preferred)
Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) (Preferred)
Coaching the Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO), VFIS Driver Training, or equivalent (preferred)
6 months field experience in EMS (preferred)
