Our Client, a Public Utility that provides natural gas and electricity to the majority of Michigan's 10 million residents is seeking a talented and self-driven individual for needs serving in the role of Sr. IT Technical Project Manager
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Project Manager to lead complex, cross‑functional technology projects from initiation through delivery. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership, communication, and technical acumen to manage project scope, timelines, resources, and stakeholder expectations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering enterprise‑level solutions in fast‑paced environments.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead end-to-end project management for large-scale technical initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, security, and business teams to define project scope and deliverables.
- Identify and mitigate risks, resolve issues, and ensure project milestones are met.
- Drive Agile/Scrum or Waterfall methodologies as appropriate for each project.
- Communicate project status, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Manage vendor relationships and third‑party integrations when applicable.
- Champion continuous improvement and best practices in project delivery and team collaboration.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in technical project management, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), cloud technologies, and enterprise IT systems.
- Proven experience with Agile, Scrum, and/or Waterfall methodologies.
- PMP, PMI-ACP, or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
- Experience working with cross‑functional teams and managing stakeholder expectations.
- Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar.
- Experience in cybersecurity, data analytics, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to influence and drive change across technical and non‑technical teams.
