Director of Construction
At Ezee Fiber, we provide fast, reliable connectivity solutions. We are looking for a Director of Construction with fiber optic construction, networking, and project management experience. The role will assist the Project Management team in tracking, reporting, and key metrics to deliver dozens of concurrent projects.
Essential Functions- Deliver telecommunications-based projects in construction, dark fiber, lit transport, Internet service, and fiber to the home from creation to final delivery.
- Ensure construction management teams are executing according to planned project timelines.
- Ensure internal and external customers are constantly updated on the status of their projects and delivery timelines.
- Schedule project deliverables with cross-functional teams and customers.
- Collaborate with others to create/streamline new/existing processes to achieve efficient performance with internal and external partners.
- Work with cross-functional teams to retrieve updates and track projects and status.
- Maintain data integrity and ensure all project documentation is appropriately updated in data repositories.
- Perform general data mining when required.
- Learn and develop an understanding of all systems, tools, and processes (e.g., reporting, capacity, and ticketing tools) that support the workflow of projects. Suggest improvements.
- Ensure that all projects are correctly invoiced.
- Ensure projects are delivered on budget.
Directly supervise one or more employees, carrying out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
QualificationsEducation and Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred but not required. Minimum fifteen years of combined experience in OSP construction, fiber network deployment, and project management, including at least ten years in leadership roles and five years managing lower-level leaders or supervisors.
- 5 years of experience with GIS system usage preferred.
- Experience with an enterprise project management software platform such as Microsoft Project.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrated organizational leadership.
- Ability to articulate expertise and manage many fast-moving projects concurrently.
- Experience tracking and reporting on milestones, identifying risks, and explaining causes.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and personable.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Valid Driver’s License.
On a daily basis, the associate analyzes and interprets data, communicates, and remains in a stationary position for a significant portion of the workday while frequently accessing computer and office productivity devices. The associate must move around the office and corporate campus, occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds.
Travel RequirementsMust be able to travel up to 50% to project sites, corporate offices, vendor meetings, and other business locations as required.
