Lab Technician

Overview

Ensure safety rules are followed – facilitated through monthly safety talks, daily toolbox talks, safety inspections and random supervisor audits. Ensure proper personal protective equipment is worn. Ensure regulatory requirements are met with regards to chemical disposal, proper PPE when handling chemicals. Daily product testing and verification of product inventory to meet customer requirements. Fulfill customer requests – additional analysis, samples to be sent out.

Process testing (i.e., stone samples). Coordination of lab testing equipment maintenance and calibration. Calibration and cleaning of laboratory equipment.

• Safety and compliance: follow safety rules and conduct safety talks, inspections, and audits; ensure PPE use and regulatory chemical handling requirements.

• Testing and quality: perform daily product testing; verify inventory to meet customer requirements; process testing of stone samples; fulfill customer requests for analyses and samples.

• Laboratory operation: coordinate maintenance and calibration of lab testing equipment; calibration and cleaning of laboratory equipment.

Basic Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED;
Associate degree is preferred.

1+ years of laboratory experience in an industrial manufacturing environment; chemical background is a plus.

Computer proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and ability to learn SAP.

Prior experience in, or knowledge of, ISO is preferred.

Strong math and organizational skills along with ability to meet deadlines; ability to read and interpret technical procedures.

Willing and able to work shifts and weekends.

Prior experience demonstrating effective management skills, knowledge of continuous manufacturing sector.

Statistical knowledge in chemistry & physics understanding.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently while also operating in a team environment with friendly, proactive and assertive nature.

High level of integrity and motivation.

Must be punctual and able to meet deadlines.

Fluency in oral and written English.

Valid driver’s license.

• Annual Base Salary range of $40,000 - $45,000
