Able Medical Devices builds precision‑machined surgical implants and instruments, including products like the Valkyrie Thoracic Fixation System. As a CNC Setup Technician, you'll own the setup and adjustment side of CNC production, dialing in wear offsets, macro changes, and process parameters to keep prototype and production medical device runs on target. You'll also work directly with Development Engineering on new part designs, which gives this role more design input than a typical setup position.
It's precision medical device work in an ISO 13485-certified, FDA-registered environment, with a full‑time schedule and relocation assistance available.
- Set up CNC equipment, work holding, and tooling, and troubleshoot wear offsets, macro changes, and other process parameters to keep production running.
- Manufacture standard production and prototype medical devices, including machining parts, fixtures, and tooling on manual lathe, mill, and grinding equipment.
- Collaborate with Development Engineering to optimize new product designs for manufacturability.
- Use precision measuring and gauging tools to inspect parts before, during, and after machining.
- Monitor machining operations for malfunctions or out‑of‑tolerance conditions and adjust machine controls as needed.
- Interpret GD&T specifications to optimize fixturing and wear offsets.
- Document process sheets, prints, tool lists, and inspection procedures to verify conformance to requirements.
- Run preventive maintenance checks and help maintain an orderly 5S work area while resolving machining problems to hit the production schedule.

What we're looking forRequired:
- 1+ years of hands‑on experience setting up and adjusting CNC equipment, including wear offsets and macro‑level process changes.
- Manual lathe, mill, or grinding experience for prototype and fixture work.
- Ability to read prints and interpret GD&T specifications.
- Ability to use precision measuring and gauging tools for in‑process inspection.
- Full‑Time schedule.
- Relocation assistance is available for candidates relocating to the Marquette, MI area.
