Job Type: Full-Time | 0.9 FTE or 72 hours/pp | Day Shifts

Schedule: 6 x 12-hour shifts (7a-7p), Rotating Weekends and Holidays

Sign-On Bonus: $7,500 Sign-On Bonus available to qualified applicants

About the Cardiac Unit

The Cardiac Department has 36 beds. Patient population includes Cardiac and CVA patients. Post‑op day 1‑2 CABG, pacemaker patients, Bradycardia, Tachycardia, SVT, AFIB with RVR or new A fib, acute MIs, PCI patients, Fem/Fem bypass, CEAs, and more. We also do step down (IMCU) patients. Nurses are exposed to more critical patients, making it a good bridge to departments such as ED and ICU.

Responsibilities

• Perform plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatment.
• Document patient care given.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluate learning needs of patients and/or families and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a current Michigan RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's preferred).

• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS‑HCP)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (within 1 year)
• IMCU cross‑training (within 1 year)
• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) (within 1 year)
