Registered Nurse (RN), Cardiac Unit Job Type: Full-Time | 0.9 FTE or 72 hours/pp | Night Shifts
Schedule:
6 x 12-hour shifts (7p-7a), Rotating Weekends and Holidays
$7,500 Sign-On Bonus available to qualified applicants
UP Health System - Marquette is part of Lifepoint Health, a diversified healthcare delivery network. As a Cardiac RN you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to cardiac and CVA patients, including post‑op day 1‑2 CABG, pacemaker patients, and acute MI/PCI cases.
The Cardiac Department has 36 beds. Patient population and diagnosis include cardiac and CVA patients. Nurses are exposed to more critical patients, making it a good bridge to departments such as ED and ICU.
How you'll contribute- Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
- Documents patient care given.
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.

Applicants should have a current Michigan RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's preferred).
- Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (within 1 year)
- IMCU cross‑training (within 1 year)
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) (within 1 year)
