In our Observation Unit, you'll play a key role in monitoring patients, supporting timely clinical decisions, and helping guide them safely to the next step in their care—whether that's admission or discharge. HowYou'll Contribute
As an Observation RN who excels in this role:
- Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatments.
- Documents patient care given.
- Works closely with providers to ensure patients meet observation criteria, monitoring patients for a period of 24‑48 hours to assess their condition and determine if they need to be admitted as an inpatient or discharged.
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Acts as an advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.

Applicants should have a current Michigan RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's preferred).
- Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS‑HCP)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (preferred)
