Position Overview

Registered Nurse (RN), Neuro/Ortho/Peds Unit

Full-time position 0.9 FTE (72 hours per person per week) at UP Health System – Marquette, Michigan.

Schedule:

6 x 12‑hour shifts, nights (7 p.m.‑7 a.m.), rotating weekends and holidays.

Sign‑on bonus: $7,500 (available to qualified applicants).

• Perform plan‑of‑care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical treatments.
• Document patient care provided.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and spiritual/psychosocial support.
• Assess learning needs of patients and families and provide appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of patients.

Applicants must possess a current Michigan RN license and an associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor’s preferred). Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS‑HCP)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within one year
• Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) within one year
