Registered Nurse (RN), Emergency Department

Job Type: Full-Time | 0.9 FTE or 72 hours/pp

Schedule: 6 x 12-hour Day shifts, 7am-7pm, rotating weekends and holidays

$7,500 Sign-On Bonus available to well qualified applicants

ED provides unscheduled outpatient services to patients whose condition requires immediate care. ED is staffed 24/7/365. We offer meaningful work with a wide variety of tasks, learning opportunities, a teamwork-oriented environment, and plenty of excitement. Change is constant and it can often be emotionally taxing and stressful. One to two years of inpatient med/surg or critical care experience is preferred.

How You'll Contribute
  • Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatment.
  • Documents patient care provided.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a current Michigan RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's preferred).

  • Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
  • Handle with Care
    - Advanced (within 90 days)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (within 1 year)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (within 1 year)
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) (within 1 year)
  • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) (within 1 year)
