Registered Nurse (RN) Medical/Surgical Unit

Job Type: Full-Time | 0.9 FTE or 72 hours/pp

Schedule:

6 x 12-hour shifts, Days (7a-7p), Rotating Weekends and Holidays

$7,500 Sign-On Bonus available to qualified applicants

54-bed acute Medical and Surgical unit (3 wings with 18 beds each). Good support from care aides to assist in patient care. Wide variety of patient conditions and interventions to hone skills and grow professionally. Fast-paced unit with admissions and discharges throughout the shift.

• Perform plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatments.
• Document patient care given.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assist patients with daily activities of living: personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation.
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provide education appropriate to age, culture, condition, circumstances.
• Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Applicants must have a current Michigan RN license and an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's preferred).

• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
