American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU/IMCU travel position requiring active MI licensure and 2 years of PCU experience.
Requirements- Active RN license in Michigan (MI) required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
- Minimum 2 years of PCU experience required
- CVICU, Neuro ICU, organ donation, or pediatric DKA experience preferred
- Positive team player personality fit preferred
- PCU/Intermediate Care Unit within a 225-bed specialty care hospital featuring a Level 2 ICU with Open Heart program, Cath Lab, Neuro Surgery, Level II Trauma Center, and CRRT programs
- 24-bed unit with a 1:3 patient-to-nurse ratio for IMCU patients
- Common diagnoses include post-open heart, heart failure, respiratory failure, trauma, surgical ICU, post-stroke with lytics, post-craniotomy, and septic shock
- Utilizes equipment including Baxter IV pumps, Omnicell, Prisma Flex CRRT, Impella, IABP, EVDs, bolt monitoring, ventilators, BiPAP, and high flow oxygen
- Uses Cerner EMR
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required
- 36 guaranteed weekly hours
- No scheduled call, though on-call may be required if unit census drops
- Floating required, done on a rotation with other travel nurses
- Bi-weekly orientation schedule
- Facility offers services including Heart & Vascular Institute, Cancer Center, Brain & Spine, Rehab, Behavioral Health, Digestive Health, Bariatric Medicine & Weight Management, Women's Health, and Pediatrics
- Located in Marquette, in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, home to Northern Michigan University
- Scrub colors must be Galaxy, Royal, or navy blue
- Hoodies and open-toed shoes are not permitted
- Candidates must live 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
- Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
- Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full time
