Marquette, MI functions as the Upper Peninsula's compact medical hub, supporting patients from remote communities across the region. UP Health System helps maintain coverage across intensive care units and surgical suites through all seasons. Sawyer International Airport keeps regional travel straightforward between assignments, especially during winter stretches. Many travelers live in Negaunee, Ishpeming, or Gwinn to keep drives manageable. Northern Michigan University adds steady local activity, and Presque Isle Park provides a quick lakeshore reset after shifts.
Marquette stays small, but it's operationally consistent — a practical market for travel nurses in the U.P.
