American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position requiring an active MI license and prior medical/surgical unit experience.

• 225-bed specialty care hospital with Heart & Vascular, Cancer Center, Brain & Spine, Rehab, and other specialty services
• Level 2 trauma center on the 6th floor Medical/Surgical unit
• Adult and geriatric patient population, ages 18-125
• Patient ratios of 5:1 to 6:1
• Uses telemetry monitors, Baxter IV pumps, Kangaroo pumps, bladder scanners, and Dynamaps
• Cerner EHR system used
• 13-week assignment on 7p-7a night shift
• Rotating weekend requirement, every other weekend
• Occasional floating to like units required

• Active MI RN license required prior to consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Bachelor's degree required, BSN preferred
• Medical/surgical unit experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking skills and ability to work with minimal supervision required
• Ability to work effectively in a stressful environment and take appropriate action

• Provide acute medical/surgical nursing care to an adult and geriatric patient population
• Orientation occurs on a bi-weekly basis
• Scrub color is Galaxy Blue, navy also acceptable
• Fingernails must be clean and appropriately trimmed in compliance with hand hygiene policy
• Visible tattoos that may be considered offensive must be covered
• Excessive jewelry is not permitted
• Candidates must not reside within 60 miles of the facility
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full time during the assignment
