Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac PCU/Stepdown RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring MI licensure and PCU/stepdown or cardiac experience.

• Active MI RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications required)
• Minimum 1 year of PCU or stepdown experience required
• Minimum 2+ years of overall RN experience required
• Associate degree in nursing required
• Experience with cardiac patient populations, chest tubes, cardiac monitoring, and cardiac drips required
• Experience with PCU/stepdown patient populations and low-level ICU skills preferred
• Active Nursys licensure verification required at time of consideration
• Social security number and date of birth required for consideration

• 225-bed specialty care hospital with a Trauma Level 2 designation
• Cardiac IMCU/Medical Surgical Telemetry unit with 36 beds
• Patient population includes cardiac and stepdown/PCU level of care with telemetry monitoring
• Common diagnoses include chest pain, VATS, stroke/TIA, pre and post open heart surgery, pacemakers, heart blocks, vascular issues, and CHF
• Patient ratios are 1:5-6 for cardiac patients and 1:3-4 for PCU/stepdown patients
• Uses telemetry monitoring equipment
• Cerner EHR system used
• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required
• Call required only during low census periods
• 13-week assignment
• Provide care to cardiac and stepdown telemetry patients including chest tube management and cardiac drip administration
• Strong teamwork skills required for this fast-paced unit
• Scrub color must be blue or navy with no blue jeans permitted
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
• Local candidates within 60 miles may be considered at a local rate
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere on a full-time basis
