American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Cardiac PCU/Stepdown position requiring MI licensure and prior PCU or stepdown experience.

• Medical Surgical Telemetry unit within a Cardiac IMCU at a 225-bed specialty care hospital with Trauma Level 2 designation
• Cardiac and stepdown patient population including chest pain, VATS, stroke/TIA, pre and post open heart surgery, pacemakers, heart blocks, vascular issues, and CHF
• 36-bed unit with patient ratios of 1:5-6 for cardiac patients and 1:3-4 for PCU/stepdown patients
• Utilizes telemetry monitoring equipment and Cerner EHR
• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Call required only during low census periods
• Floating required

• Active MI RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of PCU or stepdown experience required
• Cardiac patient population experience required, including chest tubes, cardiac monitoring, and cardiac drips
• Associate degree required
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

• Provide cardiac and stepdown level nursing care including monitoring, drips, and chest tube management
• Teamwork is essential in this collaborative care environment
• Scrub color must be blue or navy; blue jeans are not permitted
• Candidates must live 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
• Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full time
