SPECIALIST

Seasonal position at West Bloomfield Township, MI, U.S.

This is a seasonal position beginning in June and continuing for 10 weeks. The Camp Specialist designs and leads safe, engaging, age‑appropriate specialty programs that support the camp’s mission.

• Design and deliver engaging specialty programs aligned with camper ages and abilities.
• Develop and implement progressive lesson plans and adapt activities as needed.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed and model best practices.
• Train and support staff within the specialty area.
• Maintain program spaces, equipment, and supplies.
• Communicate regularly with campers, staff, and supervisors.
• Participate in all camp activities, meetings, and special events.

• Experience working in a summer camp or youth program.
• Experience teaching or leading activities for children and/or teens.
• First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain before camp).
• Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work outdoors, remain flexible, and maintain high energy.

• Ability to stand, lift up to 50 lbs., and respond to emergencies.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Must pass a Michigan background and central registry check.
• Completion of required Sexual Abuse Prevention training prior to start.

This is a hands‑on, high‑energy role ideal for individuals passionate about youth development and leading dynamic specialty programs.

Monday through Friday 8 a.m. through 3:30 p.m.

Working 37.5 hours per week.
