A Licensed Plumber inspects, installs, repairs and replaces pipes, fittings and plumbing fixtures to maintain the heating, water, gas and drainage systems of hospital facilities.
Qualifications and Requirements- Education: 2 years post high school vocational/specialized training required.
- Required Skills: Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision, work in a stressful environment, and take appropriate action.
- Licenses: Licensed Plumber (required), Valid driver license (required).
- Minimum
Work Experience:
3 years related work experience (required).
- Installs, repairs, and maintains plant plumbing systems including domestic hot and cold water, sewer and drain systems, and their related equipment, devices, and fixtures.
- Installs, repairs, and maintains other plumbing related systems including hydronic and steam heating systems, chilled water-cooling systems, lawn sprinkler systems and their related equipment, devices and fixtures.
- Installs, repairs, and maintains specialty systems including RO and de-ionized water systems, medical gas systems, fire protection systems and their related equipment, devices and fixtures.
- Troubleshoots problems in plumbing and mechanical equipment and systems.
- Assembles, installs, repairs and maintains other various Mechanical systems and equipment.
- Assists and acts as a resource for other maintenance staff with regard to mechanical and plumbing problems and issues.
- Reads, interprets and utilizes blueprints and schematics as required for job performance.
- Utilizes applicable plumbing, mechanical and building codes.
