Responsibilities
  • Maintenance Work Planning & Scheduling:
    Develop and maintain integrated schedules for preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities, including weekend and shutdown plans, utilizing advanced planning tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Maximo, SAP).
  • Create comprehensive work packages detailing procedures, permits, required materials, resource allocation, and craft-specific task sequences.
  • Conduct field walkdowns to confirm job scope, work boundaries, safety conditions, and material readiness, ensuring plans are executable and align with plant procedures.
  • Asset Management & Continuous Improvement:
    Identify spare parts and develop initial preventive maintenance (PM) job plans for new equipment; continuously review and improve existing plans based on equipment failures, feedback from skilled trades, and engineering input.
  • Assess and manage risks during repairs; develop equipment validation plans post-repair to ensure reliability.
  • Lead and coach teams in leveraging machine monitoring tools to identify and eliminate production constraints; drive continuous improvement (SQDCPME) initiatives.
  • Participate in MOS meetings to analyze equipment failures and contribute to Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Coordination & Data Management:
    Coordinate multi-discipline work planning across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation & control (I&C), and facility work streams; interface with engineering and operations to validate scope and field conditions.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and status updates in the CMMS (e.g., Maximo, SAP) to support real-time schedule forecasting, outage coordination, and KPI reporting.
  • Generate comprehensive reports and metrics on planning progress, schedule compliance, and work package readiness for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Compliance & Operational Support:
    Apply formal change management protocols to address scope, schedule, or resource deviations while maintaining configuration control.
  • Ensure adherence to government, industry, and Ford safety, health, environmental, and quality standards throughout planning activities.
  • Synchronize resources and activities required for smooth equipment start-ups and shutdowns.
  • Be flexible and willing to assist with other job functions and departments as needed, including back-filling other roles to support facility operations.

Candidates must possess full flexibility and be ready to work across all standard, operating, and rotational shift schedules, including day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience, directly managing teams and influencing cross-functional groups to achieve objectives.
  • Strong working knowledge of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) (e.g., Maximo, SAP PM).
  • Demonstrated experience with advanced scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities under tight timelines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Preferred (Even better, you may have)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial) or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive maintenance planning experience in heavy industrial/manufacturing environments.
  • Experience in a battery pack manufacturing facility or highly automated process industry.
  • Knowledge of project controls, including cost estimation, earned value, scheduling logic, and risk mitigation.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and FMEA familiarity.
  • Facility start-up or new equipment commissioning experience.
  • Six Sigma:
    Black or Green Belt.
  • Knowledge of constraint management.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary range: position is salary grade 7, $84,480 - $141,360.
