Position: Transportation Engineer 9-12 (Assistant Construction Engineer) - Marshall TSC

Position Overview

Transportation Engineer at the Marshall Transportation Service Center (TSC). The role assists the Construction Engineer and unit in managing construction projects and the local agency construction program. Additional duties include utilities, pavement warranties, Work Zone Safety, contract administration, and other TSC activities. A valid driver’s license is required for field reviews.

Education

Possession of a bachelor of science degree in engineering.

NOTE: Applicants who will obtain a bachelor’s degree by December 31, 2026 may also be considered.

Experience Levels
  • Transportation Engineer 9 – No specific type or amount of experience required.
  • Transportation Engineer 10 – One year of professional engineering experience involved in transportation systems and programs equivalent to level 9.
  • Transportation Engineer P11 – Two years of professional engineering experience involved in transportation systems and programs equivalent to level 9, including one year equivalent to level 10.
  • Transportation Engineer 12 – Three years of professional engineering experience involved in transportation systems and programs equivalent to level 9, including one year equivalent to level P11.
  • Possession of a registered professional engineer license may be substituted for six months of experience at levels 9–12. This substitution may only be used once for qualification or early reclassification.
Additional Requirements
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Submit official college transcripts and/or foreign degree evaluation. For U.S. equivalency, use evaluations from organizations listed in the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services or the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc.
