Job Summary
Transports patients throughout the Surgical Unit and assists with the preparation of patients for surgery.
Essential Functions- Washes and shaves operation sites.
- Transports patients to and from the Operating Room.
- Assists with Operating Room preparation.
- Positions patients in Operating Room.
High school graduate or equivalent. BLS from American Red Cross or American Heart Association certification.
Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesWork experience in a hospital setting for at least 6 months, preferred. Must be able to communicate with patients and families and work in fast pace, stressful environment.
Working ConditionsPotentially exposed to infectious diseases.
Physical RequirementsAbility to continuously stand and sit (90% of time). May require walking primarily on a level surface for periods of time throughout the day. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, bend and reach. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
