As a full-time, nonexempt Specialty Pharmacy Liaison, you will assist in various specialty pharmacy liaison activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Your responsibilities will include preparing, delivering, and restocking medications; performing order entry; procuring drugs; billing. You will carry out your job duties according to written procedures and guidelines based on pharmacy standards and regulatory requirements.

This full-time, nonexempt position will work 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Oaklawn Hospital was founded in 1925 as a 12-bed hospital in a residential home, funded by a group of visionary philanthropists. Now, over 100 years later, we are licensed for 77 acute care beds and a 17-bed inpatient psychiatric unit. Our service area includes Calhoun County and parts of Branch and Eaton counties with a medical staff of more than 300 providers representing over 50 specialties

The pharmacy utilizes Arbor, Athena, and Script Pro. Pharmacy hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

• Serve as the primary point of contact between providers, specialty pharmacies, and patients to facilitate timely therapy initiation
• Coordinate prescription intake and referrals, ensuring accurate transmission of orders and required documentation
• Support prior authorizations and benefits investigations, collaborating with payers, pharmacies, and provider offices
• Educate patients on the specialty pharmacy process, including next steps, timelines, and access expectations
• Track prescription status and therapy progress, proactively resolving access, financial, or logistical barriers
• Collaborate with clinical and care teams to support adherence, continuity of care, and patient outcomes
• Ensure compliance with program, regulatory, and organizational requirements, including documentation and reporting standards

• High School Diploma or GED
• Current Michigan Pharmacy Technician license in good standing
• Proficient computer skills including experience using Microsoft Office

• PTCB/CPhT
• Previous experience in a hospital of retail setting
• Prior authorization experience

The hourly pay for this role will range from $17.98 to $32.12 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
